Production Planner

Where: Production โ†’ Production Planner.

Which job should the shop floor build first? The Planner answers that every day. It ranks your open jobs by delivery risk, due date and material readiness, flags which are late or about to be, and explains its reasoning โ€” it only advises and never changes your jobs.

Reading the planโ€‹

  • KPIs: Open jobs ยท Overdue ยท At risk ยท Material-blocked.
  • AI plan overview: a plain-English summary of the latest run.
  • Recommended build order โ€” build top-down:

MaterialsReady ยท Short N (blocked โ€” N items short) ยท No BOM (can't be assessed).

How the ranking worksโ€‹

Risk severity first, then earliest due date, then materials-ready jobs ahead of blocked ones. The numbers are computed deterministically from your data โ€” the AI writes the explanations, not the math.

Running itโ€‹

  • Click Generate plan for a fresh run (this is the metered AI step โ€” the preview table itself is free). You'll get a toast like "Plan ready โ€” 8 job(s), 2 overdue".
  • A nightly sweep also refreshes the plan automatically in the early morning, so there's usually a current plan waiting when you arrive.

Tipsโ€‹

  • The Why column shows "โ€”" until you've generated at least one plan.
  • Jobs without a BOM show No BOM and can't be checked for material readiness โ€” link a BOM if you want the full picture.
  • Material shortages come from the same calculation as Material Availability โ€” jump there to raise a requisition for anything short.
  • If AI credits run out, the ranked plan is still produced โ€” only the prose summary is skipped.
