Panel Design Studio

Where: Panel Studio in the sidebar (most staff roles).

A full drawing board inside your ERP. Sketch panel layouts, trace over uploaded drawings, measure real distances and areas, count parts with click-markers, and drop in real electrical symbols — then turn the whole drawing into a costed BOM in one click.

Starting a drawing​

New drawing → pick a template (Blank, MCC, PCC, Distribution Board, APFC, PLC), name it, set the panel type and project → Create & open.

The editor at a glance​

  • 16 tools with keyboard shortcuts: V select · H pan · R rectangle · O ellipse · L line · A arrow · P polyline · G polygon · F freehand · T text · D dimension · M area · C count marker · S symbols · K calibrate · E eraser. Undo/redo, copy/paste, snap-to-grid, marquee select, resize/rotate.
  • 35-symbol electrical library — MCBs (1P–4P), MCCB, ACB, RCCB, contactors, overload relays, timers, push buttons, busbar, CT/VT, meters, VFD, SMPS, PLC, terminals, DIN rail, enclosures…
  • Trace — overlay a drawing from the Drawing Manager under your canvas with adjustable opacity, and draw over it.
  • Calibrate (K) — click two points of a known distance, enter the real length, and every dimension, area and readout reports real-world units (mm/cm/m, m²/ft²). Calibrate before you measure anything.
  • Autosave every couple of seconds, plus Save version snapshots you can restore.

AI component detection​

With a traced base drawing, hit the sparkle button → Run AI detection. It reports "N components detected · M matched to catalog" — tick the ones you want and they're placed as symbols on the canvas. Detection uses the metered drawing-analysis feature; drawing, measuring and takeoff are free.

From drawing to BOM​

Open the Takeoff tab — it tallies every measurement, count category and symbol. From there:

  • Generate BOM — review the proposed lines, then a draft BOM is created through the normal catalog matcher and you land in the BOM Generator.
  • Export Takeoff CSV for spreadsheets.

Lifecycle​

Drawings are Draft while you work; Finalize locks the canvas (snapshotting a revision) and Cancel retires it — both can be reopened as drafts. The gallery shows thumbnails, statuses and search; private workspaces are visible only to their creator and admins.
